Snowflakes That Never Melt

Posted by

Weather you have witnessed them falling from the sky in person or on television, almost everyone both young and old would agree that a Snowflake is one of the most amazing miracles of nature. Many questions are asked about why & how they form and are they really all different? We to have taken inspiration from these miracles of nature, then taking it to the next level by creating a Snowflake that never melts!

Snowflake Crystal

Why & how they form:  A snowflake is either a single ice crystal or an aggregation of ice crystals which falls through the Earth's atmosphere. They begin as snow crystals which develop when microscopic super cooled cloud droplets freeze. Snowflakes come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Complex shapes emerge as the flake moves through differing temperature and humidity regions, such that individual snowflakes are almost always unique in structure. Source: Wikipedia

Are they are all different? Yes, they are. Need more scientific answers? head to https://www.its.caltech.edu/~atomic/snowcrystals/alike/alike.htm

Over 20 years ago a Professor of Physics at the California Institute of Technology, Kenneth G. Lebbrecht decided to record Snowflakes and Crystals by writing about them and photographing them through a microcope.

He has published many books and articles with his Snowflake Photography.
